HUGE NEWS!

Posted by Colleen Houck in Top Ten Lists

   Hi Everyone,

I have some huge news! I've been sitting on it for a couple of weeks now and I finally have permission to share it with my fans. It's so exciting that I've been twitching impatiently because I want all of you to know. The big news is that Disruption Entertainment and Ineffable Pictures have signed a writer to pen the screenplay for TIGER'S CURSE! Are you all sitting down? If not, you'd better do so, because the person writing the TIGER'S CURSE movie is...

Julie Plec!

Julie is the co-creator and executive producer of a little tv show called The Vampire Diaries.

Here's her official bio: JULIE PLEC- A protege of Greg Berlanti, Kevin Williamson and Wes Craven, Julie skillfully juggles work in film and television as both a producer and a writer. Currently in an overall tv deal at WBTV, she is the Co-Creator (with Williamson), Executive Producer and Showrunner of THE VAMPIRE DIARIES for The CW. VAMPIRE is in its 3rd season and is the network's highest rated program. Prior to that, Julie was a Writer and Co-Executive Producer on the 3 seasons of KYLE XY for ABC Family (which she set up while running the Television department at BENDERSPINK). Her other produced TV credits include DAWSONS CREEK and WASTELAND. Past feature producing credits include SCREAM 2 and 3, Greg Berlanti's BROKEN HEARTS CLUB, Wes Craven's CURSED and THE BREED.

The news that Julie was writing the screenplay was leaked a little early and there were dozens of news links. To see them all check out my news tab but here are a couple of the announcements that went out.

MY TOP TEN LIST FOR REASONS WHY JULIE IS AN AWESOME PICK FOR TEAM TIGER

1)  Her villains are multifaceted.

I love Klaus. He's a really terrible person but, at the same time, you can understand why he is the way he is. In TIGER'S DESTINY, my readers will get to know Lokesh a bit more and will understand what drives and motivates him. I think its important to flesh out your villains.

Damon and Stefan 333 - the-vampire-diaries photo

2)  She throws glimpses of good in the bad boys and bad in the good boys.

I really love that Stefan has a dark side and Damon has a good side and the series goes back and forth a bit. I end up cheering for them all. I always wanted to show in my series that things aren't always white and black, good and evil. People ask me about Kishan being a bad boy and I never thought of him in that way. I always considered him to be just misunderstood.

3)  Her male characters are swoonworthy but, at the same time, can be respected by male viewers.

After convincing my hubby to watch the first few episodes of THE VAMPIRE DIARIES, he was hooked and doesn't see the brothers as cheesy but as manly men. This is very important to me as I want men to be able to watch TIGER'S CURSE and cheer for my heroes as much as the girls giggle.

Jenna and Alaric

4) She writes a show that adults can love too.

I love that I have fans of all ages and really want my adult readers to enjoy the series as much as the teens do which is why I'm so excited about Julie. Her writing is fast paced and keeps both adults and teens coming back for more. The adult characters she writes are fantastic and real and the show doesn't have the teen angst feel that others do.

5) Her romantic lines are epic!

I'm looking forward to seeing how she tweaks Ren's and Kishan's romantic lines.

"Somewhere along the way, you decided I was worth saving. I wanted to thank you for that."
Damon Salvatore, Season 1, Episode 22 - Founder`s Day (Season`s Finale)

“I just have to say it once. You just need to hear it. I love you, Elena. And it’s because I love you that I can’t be selfish with you, why you can’t know this. I don’t deserve you, but my brother does.”
Damon Salvatore, Season 2, Episode 08 - Rose

"I didn`t care I had something my brother wanted. I didn`t even care if I hurt him. I only knew that I wanted her."
Stefan Salvatore, Season 1, Episode 06 - Lost Girls

"After everything I put you through, I'm just honored to be your date tonight."
Stefan Salvatore, Season 3, Episode 20  - Do Not Go Gentle

6) She always keeps me guessing.

Adding the original vampire family was a stroke of genius! Love all the story lines this opens up. I'm pretty good at figuring out where a story arc is going and Julie constantly surprises me. I'm looking forward to seeing how she'll surprise me in the TIGER'S CURSE movie.

7) The romantic tension is always present.

Holy wow this scene was thick with romantic tension and all they're doing is touching hands! I'm a big believer in creating romantic tension in just a look or a simple touch. A few examples are when Ren touches Kelsey's cheek or when Kishan says that it hurts him to be near Kelsey and not with her.

8) She has lots of experience writing about two brothers in love with the same girl.

They each love Elana in their own way and I'm really excited to see what Julie will do with Ren, Kishan, and Kelsey!

9) Julie isn't afraid of a good cliffhanger.

I about died when Damon kissed who I thought was Elana at the end of season one and it ended up being Katherine. TOTALLY did not see that coming! You all know I'm a huge fan of cliffhangers. Which one of my cliffhangers was the most memorable?

10) The odds of my getting to meet Ian Somerhalder just shot up into the realm of IT COULD HAPPEN! Dang he has the prettiest blue eyes. Sigh.

This reason is, of course, my number one, but which one is the most important to you? Leave a comment below and let me know what you think!

I would paint a beautiful self portrait of Mr.Kadam. :)

July 8, 2012

Ariella839

Paranormal is better because I like seeing different supernatural creatures written differently and uniquely. For Mr. Kadam, I would buy him a rare book and/or something to remind him of the boys.

Happy Birthday Mr. Kadam. Number one i would get him a witty card that would make him laugh but one i probably wouldnt understand why it was funny. I would probably make him something close to the heart! Such as a wooden sculpture (that I would make of course being a bit of an art freak) of two tigers. I feel he would appricate the hard work that went into making it and look at it often. And of course it would be sign, "With Love Kelsey!" (And yes Kelsey is my name too!!)

I like paranormal better because I feel like its more exciting! Since its not real, it makes me think that could be real. It makes me question a lot of things. I think that paranormal fiction is more of an adventure! All the possible characters are all you unique and amazing! I think since it seems so fake, to me it makes it feel real! It makes me want that fantasy where things are not what they seem! Where they're are things you could never have imagined! I LOVE that! I also like how I can learn from paranormal fiction! You can discover different types of mythology and other peoples view on some of the quite common characters! I've always benn a HUGE fan if fantasy. Dreaming, imagining, and creating such special people. I love seeing things like the humanity in vampires! I love how the fantasy thrill of paronarmal fiction! That's why it my favorite!

contest #2 For Mr. Kadam's birthday I would take him to my home town and go to a not well know restaurant and get him a specialty burger. Even though he has been everywhere and tried everything, he probably hasn't tried the specialty burgers that are delicious.

June 30, 2012

Star17

Contest #1: My favorite genre is Paranormal because I love fantasy, in which Paranormal books introduces fantastical creatures like vampires, werewolves, and most importantly, I love the romance in Paranormal books where a human falls in love with a person that is not human since Paranormal sounds unique and different. Contest #2: For Mr. Kadam's birthday, I would give him a book called "The Last Dickens" by Matthew Pearl since the author had written his own version of the mystery of the missing final six installments of "The Mystery of Edwin Drood." I know how Mr. Kadam loves books and giving him the book as a birthday present would be great since knowledge is the greatest treasure. Happy Birthday Mr. Kadam!

June 30, 2012

Ewa_xoxo

contest #1 I prefer Paranormal over Dystopian because I love the back story of the paranormal world of how it came about and all the mythology that is included in it.

June 28, 2012

jaydream

contest 2 : I would make Mr. Kadam a desk out of red wood polished, with etching of all the greatest moments of the tiger curse on the side and around the center on the front of the desk and a jungel type etching around the center of the front of the desk, then paint it in the brightest of colors to represent India fashion then carve two tigers and fill in the two tigers, one black with gold eyes (Kishan.) and one white with blue (Ren.) in the center with him hugging the tigers, then on the front in the center on the jungle echting I would put a carving of him, Kelsey, Kishan, Ren and Nimha it the front so it’s the first thing he sees then put sealant so it wouldn’t be damaged

June 27, 2012

ilovekishan:)

Contest #1: I love both types of books. However, I have really gotten into Dystopian books. I started with the Hunger games and found it so intriguing that i have read like 5 different books in the last month (not counting tiger's curse series)right now i'm in the middle of the host by Stephanie Meyer. it is amazing how the aliens came and put these "souls" into humans and the main girl is fighting with the other part of her mind (said with lack of a better explanation)and she fights back to save her loved one(s). I think Dystopian is more interesting than any paranormal ive read. :)

June 25, 2012

jg3971

Contest#2: Fist i would buy him card stating the following. Mr. Kadam! I'm sorry to say i'm late again i'm missed your birthday as well as Kells! I wanted to wish you a very Happy Birthday!! Hmm...picking him out a present would be hard since he can get anything he really wants. I know he is more of a family orientated type of man so i would get him something that will be treasured for ever. I think i'd get him a custom made album with pictures of his close family meaning his wife, his parents, Ren and Kishan, Deschen,King Rajaram, Nilima, and Kelsey. I would record all the memories and adventures they all had together. Like for example i would put in a picture of him Nilima and Kelsey on the day of the star festival. They were all happy that day. I would right a little description on the bottom of the photo about what happened that day. This would be the perfect gift for him.

June 25, 2012

jg3971

Contest#1: Right now I've been really into Dystopian type books like Divergent, Crossed, And The Hunger Games. I like seeing the way a character builds them selves up and and solves problems and tries to help others as well. Like Tris from Divergent she turned against her own faction and fought against them because they were trying to take control of the other factions with the Erudite. She started off as the "stiff" and ended up impressing them all by fighting for what was right.

June 25, 2012

Tigerlover98

Contest #one I like dyspepsia books better like Uglies by Scott Westerfeld(and his other 3 books), The Giver by Lois Lowry, and Gathering Blue also by Lois Lowery. Or even the HungerGames could count by Suzanne Collins. I enjoy reading about how people try to overcome the troubles of their society and how they do it(like alone or with friends or special powers).

June 25, 2012

Nephele

Contest #2: I like both, but Dystopia at the moment a bit more. They can be scary in a way no other genre can be, touching the very core of present day's fears. And they give me hope, by showing that even under the worst of conditions, one still can be brave, kind, caring and fight for a change.

June 25, 2012

Nephele

Wow, I didn’t know my birthday is the same day as Mr Kadam's. Happy belated birthday, Mr Kadam! The new cover is beautiful. Also, I think Julia Plec is a good choice for the screenplay. Congratulations on both! As a birthday present for Mr Kadam, I'd get a composit sketch artist and let him work together with Ren and Kishan to create a picture of Mr Kadam's wife and children. Then I'd give it to a painter, to craft a large oil painting, which would be my present.

June 24, 2012

kyliemae

Contest #1: It's a very close contest, but I'd have to say that I prefer dystopian to paranormal, if only because there has been so much paranormal lately. I really, really, really love paranormal, but it's nice to take a break once in a while and read something different. Dystopian stories have a different sort of thrill to them than the paranormals do. Contest #2: What would I get Mr. Kadam for his birthday? Wow. I'm not good at birthday presents anyway, but he's lived for so long that I'm not sure there really is much you could impress him with. I would probably try to get him some video games, to be completely honest. Just because I feel like he would be really bad at them and it would be kind of hilarious to watch him play them.

June 24, 2012

JayKay12

Contest #1: I think I prefer Paranormal over Dystopian. I love both, however Paranormal books definately dominate my bookshelves. (Yes, Plural Shelves .)As for my reasoning, I think is that I love all the stories and creatures and mythology and all that in paranormal stories that I could never think of on my own. I love learning all about others' imagination, especially Indian princes cursed to be tigers. I never would have though of that and I love it. Contest #2: It's hard to pick a present for the man that knows everything. But I think the best way to go would be something sentimental for him. Something with the royal family he loves so much. Maybe find a special family portrait that he may not already have or a special family heirloom or crest of some sort. And as a backup something to help with his extensive research on all these tasks. A Personalized or engraved notebook. Maybe it could say something along the lines of "Guardian of the Rajaram Family". I think that would mean the most to him and he deserves that.

June 24, 2012

MellieD2710

Contest #2: I think I would get Mr Kadam a really nice pen set and a beautifully bound notebook or something like that for his birthday. He's such a smart man, and he's always doing his research. He could use his pen and notebook to keep all his research organized for future references. That way, the rest of the gang could have a place to look at Kadam's notes without always having to ask him everything. Might be helpful for everyone :) And of course I would give him a big hug too! He's awesome!

June 24, 2012

MellieD2710

Contest #1: As much as I love paranormal, I think I kind of prefer Dystopian. I love to see what authors can come up. It's interesting to see how the authors interpret their own world and how it all usually falls apart in the end. And it also kind of makes you think about how things could end up like that. It's not completely unthinkable. Paranormals are more in the "definitely can't happen" category (although sometimes I wish things that cool were real). But I truly do love both. My bookshelves are filled with both types of books :)

I enjoy paranormal movies more because they are so suspenseful and always take my breath away with fear! Since I have a leaky valve in my heart roller coasters are not my thing, but instead I watch paranormal movies to get that thrill! Some of my favorites are "Pet semetary" and "the sixth sense"!

For Mr. Kadam's birthday I would get him a new mug for tea and what-not and a new book. He seems like the kind of person who doesn't need material things and I think he would enjoy sitting down with a warm drink and a book that he can learn something new from.

Entry for contest#2 Well in tiger's quest Ren did mention that Mr Kadam is a lonely man and since his wife had died long ago I think he would want some friends so maybe I'd introduce him to some people that have similar interest as him such as his hobbies and ect.

I HAVE A SUGGESTION FOR AN ACTRESS. So I really like the Robin Hood BBC television show and in the first season (starting at episode 5) the actress, Anjali Jay comes in as a Turkish captive. I really enjoyed her acting and her character in Robin Hood BBC and I was thinking it would be cool if she could get a part in the movie. I was thinking she would be good as Nilima but that is still up to the people in charge and her. I was just thinking it would be fun :)

June 19, 2012

this is so amazing! i have been waiting for this moive for ever when is it coming out? i love the vampire diaries so thats a plus!

Contest #1 I live paranormal books because they allow for more variation in what can happen and how things can occur. Contest #2 I would give Mr.Kadam the gift of having the curse on the two brothers lifted and Kelsey happy.

June 19, 2012

emilyu96

are there going to be ways for the fans to audition for the movie? If so where and when would they be?

June 19, 2012

Leafshadow

1) I prefer the paranormal genre. It had a certain, almost dark feeling to it, yet enjoyable to read or watch. 2) I personally think that Mr. Kadam would LOVE a nice Lamborghini Diablo, a dark purple (a mix between red and cobalt blue perhaps...), seeing as he has a thing for expensive cars.

June 18, 2012

lizzie4464

for number 1 i would say paranormal because for starters dystopian only has 1 good series the hunger games also paranomal can stand as a paranormal romance like ren and kelsey kind of.And for number 2 I would get mr kadam a book full of all the cars in the world because i know he loves cars so much.

June 18, 2012

BookWorm101

Twilight was the first book series, or chapter book period, I've ever read, and after I read them I thought Twilight would always be my favorite books ever, but after I've read Tiger's Curse I was hooked, I never thought I would love any book more than Twilight. You showed me different. I've read each book multiple times! sincerly-BookWorm101

I absolutely love the series one of my favs. For Mr.Kadam's birthday I would take him on a trip around the U.S.A focusing on the Willamette valley in Oregon. Speaking of Oregon you should come to Junction City.

Please, please, please come to Toronto! Canadians never get any american authors, it's so frustrating. My friends and I would love to see. I've made friends talking about the Tiger's Curse series and missed school to buy the books as quickly as possible, if that's not some ice cold Tiger fandom Idon't know what is!

June 18, 2012

Animals_Books_Love

Coleen, I wouldn't know what to get Mr.Kadam for his birthday i wouldn't get him books or something he already has alot of but i take him some where and teach him something about that place maybe I would take him to Cuba or Africa. Also I prefer dystopian and paranormal books that are combined. If that doesn't count I would say I enjoy paranormal book but I LOVE the hunger games. Some of my favorite books are, the matched series by Ally Condie, Nightshade series by Andrea Cremer, The Scorpio races by Maggie Stiefvater, Marked series by P.C. Cast and Kristen Cast and of course the Tigers curse series!!! I am writing a book myself please email me : taliaquade@gmail.com for advice Sincerely, Talia Quade

June 17, 2012

FabFiction

Colleen, It's kind of a tricky question to answer. What to get Mr.Kamdam for his birthday.. Well, Mr.Kamdam is very wealthy and has lived for hundreds of years. That means hes seen a lot, and has been able to get what ever he has desired, when he wasn't working to help Ren that is. I would get him very old books from India, books that tell the history of the India he knew. But then I would get him recent ones, and at the back of one I would write. "Present day history: Rens freedom at last, it's retirement for you and it only took, oh about three hundred years. Live in peace, and hopefully curse free."

June 17, 2012

aura_14

i love both of the genres, like the hungers games and this series. they both capture my attention in different ways, and when i get done with a book or a series, i just die waiting for the next book or cry when the whole story is done. But if i need to choose, it would have to be paranormal becuase things are just a little more complicated and interesting when you add magic, myths, mythical creatures, gods, and quests. it's like the farthur away a story is from the truth, the more real it feels because you can put yourself into the story while reading it. -Shelby

Colleen, I AM YOUR BIGGEST FAN!!!!! Not sissylou2121! She says she is, but she isn't. Trust me. I wanted tiger's voyage so badly, but then become a little too obsessed. my mom went bazerk and then wouldn't let me get it. I was very upset and even cried!!!!! I eventually was able to get it, but it took a month to finally be able to get it

Second Contest. Mister Kadam has had over 300 years to gain wealth and stature for the boys. He has tons of his motorized toys, but has anyone baked him a cake for his birthday? I think that it would be the small things that make this grandfather figure happy.

June 17, 2012

TheAmberKat

Contest 1. Even though with supernatural there is much more to work with and easier things to find in the end dystopian leaves room for coming up with your own ideas instead of playing around inside the proverbial "box".

June 17, 2012

TheAmberKat

I honestly don't think you should invest in making Tiger's Curse into a movie. As amazing as the series is I don't think putting it to another persons portrayal is a good idea and would do it justice. When other books are put to the screen I am usually disappointed in the out come and it leaves me with a hatred for the fan base and sometimes even the books itself. That's what happened with Twilight.

June 17, 2012

renisthebest126468

Yo! Sissylou 2121! How dare you copy exactly what I said!!!! Even about begging Colleen to come on tour by where you live!!!!! Come up with your own ideas. Not copy someone else's!!!! X-(

June 17, 2012

sissylou2121

what I think Mr.Kadam would want is Kelsey returned safe and sound back home to India with Ren and Kishan. he doesnt really need anything. Mr.Kadam has a lot of money and useful information that it doesnt matter if you get him something or not. if Kelsey was i the house right now she would be preparing a party for him to celebrate his birth. Mr.Kadam would protest but still Kelsey would make sure there is a party. Colleen PLEASE times a million trillion thousand and one come to Tulsa, Oklahoma. I am your BIGEST FAN. I pre order all of your book like Tiger's Destiny! Please come next time you are on tour!love the books, love the wrighting, I love Ren, I love you.. Allee J. C.

June 16, 2012

Tigerlily_8

I'd buy Mr. Kadam some kind of new gadget for his cars (I am not an expert on cars so I don't know what this gadget would be, but I'd definitely do the research for him.) And I guess I'd have to pick dystopian (sorry, paranormal, I still love you, but dystopian wins!)

June 16, 2012

renisthebest126468

For Kadam's bithday I would find Lokesh and rescue Kelsey. That would be what Mr. Kadam would want the most. Any material possessions would mean nothing, because he has so much money that he could just buy that on his own. But having Kelsey back safe and sound? that is what Kadam would really want. It would also make Ren and Kishan happy as well. REN IS THE BEST!!!! And also, Colleen, if your preding this, PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE times 100000000000 come to folsom california on your next tour. I am obsessed with your books and can confidently say that I am your biggest fan. please come out here!!!! I am begging!!!!!

June 16, 2012

bluemamba

I would totally give Mr. Kadman a $500 gift card that you can use anywhere (so afterwards i could just drop him off at a bookstore for like 3 hours or something) and tape it under a plush toy of Daffy the duck. All of this would be wrapped in wrapping paper covered in tigers and if I could I would try to find a way for Mr. Kadman to remember his late wife. Now it is hard to choose dystopia or paranormal, but I find myself like paranormal a lot more often.

June 16, 2012

quirkylady21

Okay here are two more possible actor choices. Victoria Justice as Kelsey and Gus Carr for kishan or ren. More likely Kishan. But he's hot and he has the right looks for the movie. Look him up he's pretty cute.

Contest #1 I would have to say between Dystopian and Paranormal my favorite would be Paranormal. The reason for this is because my favorite book genre mostly has to do with Werewolves. I love the fact of people turning into wolves. Wolves are such beautiful creatures. For example the way Susan Krinard describes her werewolves is just so beautifully done. The way she describes the wolves fur color and the way they run is just so beautifully done that I fell in love with her book series. She describes them so well that I can see a picture of those wolves clearly in my mind. This is why I almost have all of her werewolf books. This is why Paranormal is my favorite genre.

it cut off my comment :) , the Bugatti is the rarest, most expensive car, the last one sold in 1987 for 8.7 million dollars. If the gift were from the Tigers Curse world I would take Mr Kadam to Durgas temple and convince her to let him speak with his wife who past one last time.

June 15, 2012

Phoenix fire

If we are talking real world gift I would get Mr Kadam a 1931 Bugatti Royale Kellner Coupe,

June 14, 2012

allycat567

I would give Kadam a stuffed tiger for funzzies! haha I think he would get a kick out of it. Also I badge that says Worlds Best Tiger Caretaker. Anyways I love love love paranormal but lately i have been pulled Diaspora. I just love anything with good solid characters and a romance(of course) And I just want to say I LOVE the Vampire Diaries and its by far my favorite show. Ian...so Dreamy. Hopefully you can meet him! Finally Plec will make this show fabulous. I can totally trust her to make this movie all it can be. Thank you!!

Contest#2 It's nice to know that Mr. Kadam's birthday is right after mines. Kelsey's birthday is right before my sister's. I love when I have similar aspects to characters in the books I read. I feel more connected, y'know? Anywhoo, I think a nice gift for Mr. Kadam would be a nice cup of tea and a good book on politics and such[and a couple of Looney Toons's collector items. The poor man needs a rest but I'd say he seems to have a lot of energy. Especially with having to deal with those restless tigers. *wink He reminds me of my grandpa. Eccentric, kind, wise and thinks his grandchildren are 'pains in the neck'. An old tiger, I suppose. I feel like I've been rambling...

June 14, 2012

MissZay

I love Mr. Kadam with all my heart and for his birthday I would give him Folktales from Northern India by Sadhana Naithani because I know for a surety he would thoroughly enjoy reading it all, even if he knew a lot of it! And I absolutely adore the cover for Destiny! Can't wait until September!

June 14, 2012

TigerLily

As far as whether or not Shahrukh Khan should be featured in the movie, i think he is a good option...in my opinion he has the likings of Kishan...

June 14, 2012

XXShanaXX

I just love your books and I always try to get the books as soon as they are released but they are hard to find in Singapore and as for Mr Kadam's birthday I think he would like the other pieces of the amulet so that he could fufill his mission to help save the two tigers for their curse

June 13, 2012

aspencer

Just started reading the series last week and am already deeply into the third book. You could say I'm in love! Please, whatever you do, don't ruin the book by allowing them to make an awful movie. I haven't been this excited about a book in quite awhile and can't stress enough that movies often ruin books for the readers. Just thought I'd add my two cents. Great series :)

Oh my god! The cover! It is completely gorgeous, I love fire bird and the green and the eye! For Mr. Kadam's birthday, I would get him a computer. I think he would find google magical.

OH MY FREEKING GOD. YOU HAVE NO IDEA HOW EXCITED I AM. I EVEN GOT GROUNDED FOR YELLING TOO MUCH!!!! just so you know.. I'm like your biggest MEXICAN fan. June 13, 2012

aimster1114

Oh I'm IN LOVE WITH THE BOOK COVER!! Its perfect!! Anyways, I have the answer to your question for number 9 on your top ten list. Your most memorable cliffhanger was in Tiger's Quest at the end where they save Ren but he doesn't remeber Kelsey! I cryed for a good ten minutes after I finsied because of that and also because you left us hanging, hence the word cliffhanger. So, obviously, number 9 is my number 1. Can't wait for the book to come out (I have the date it comes out on my calander, teehee!~) and also for the movie! I just love what you do!! Thank you for everything!!

June 13, 2012

tigerlily26

sooo excited! cant wait to hear more about the movie. i would rather pick paranormal because there are moree possiblities to it and im always hanging off my seat when i read those type of books.

June 13, 2012

quirkylady21

The cover is absolutely STUNNING!!!!!! What's the point of making us wait till September, it's not FAIR!!!!!!!!!!!! WHY?!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

June 13, 2012

sammy7987

I love both genres, but if I have to pick a favorite it's paranormal. When I read I do it to get away from every day life. What's better to do that then reading a paranormal book with tigers, vampires, werewolves, ect. It also makes the guys in the story more interesting when they have a paranormal strength about them!!

June 13, 2012

Bethy_Johnson

I personally adore the Paranormal genre. I enjoy the exhilarating ride and spooks it gives me while reading. I love your series which I think everyone does. I was able to get my school get the first three books in the series. Thank you Mrs. Houck for writing an awesome series and having everyone enjoy your wonderfully vivid writing. Bye!

June 13, 2012

emzbee

I would choose Paranormal. For me, it would be easier to accept things that don't have a completely logical explanation than live in a Dystopia. :)

June 13, 2012

I love the cover! AHH how am I going to wait til September to get my hands on this book

Omg!! Omg!! 53 more minutes until the cover revealing. Sooooooooo excited. I'm kind of hoping Fanindra will be this books cover. She would make an equisite addition to the cover art of the Tiger's Curse series. Fingers crossed.

June 12, 2012

Tigeris15

I perfer paranormal, because your mind can open up to new possibites to something like ''Could that really Happen'', like the twilight zone. You would always be on the edge of your seat when you're reading a paranormal book, fliping the pages wondering what will happen next.

June 11, 2012

TeamRen91

If I could give Mr.Kadam something for his birthday my first choice would be pictures of all the adventures and places Kelsey, Ren, and Kishan go to. His hard work is what helps them completely. But I think what Kadam really wants is peace to see his wife again and move on knowing his family is safe happy. So ultimately I think Mr.Kadam wants to end the curse put on his sons.

June 11, 2012

Ramolicous

love love love love love love love love times an a finity of loves this series so mouch.

June 10, 2012

BlackTRocks

I choose paranormal because it has you on the edge of your seat. It has you biting your nails and reading with all the lights on. It keeps you turning the pages until you find that you're at the last page (and don't want to be)! And of course, paranormal is scary, and sometimes a girl just has to get scared.

June 10, 2012

Happy B-day Mr. Kadam. Happy Happy Birthday to one whose really wise. Happy Happy Birthday Lokesh is who we despise. Happy Happy Birthday I'm in love with your two guys. (continued) are destroying our environment, the government is only allowing us enough choices to make us content, our minds are practically being controlled by the media or the rich get richer and the poor gets poorer. The world building in dystopia books is also amazing because these writers are creating a whole new world with the same problems as ours.

June 10, 2012

MiniMonster

I personally like dystopian novels better than paranormal books because I can't say I have ever read a dystopian book that I didn't like but I have read paranormal books that were almost painful to finish. That aside, though, the main reason why I love dystopian books is because they all have a message and tell about a flaw in our government or in ourselves . Whether it be that we

Tigers curse lover

I would get Mr Kadam two life sized stuffed tigers. One white and one black, to represent Ren and Kishan. I would also buy him a plane ticket to Hawaii or Fiji so he can sit back and relax for a while. I would also throw in some spa and massgae treatments. I would then send over Kelsey, Ren, Kishan and Nilima, as he would love nothing more than to have his family with him.

June 9, 2012

LittleTiger

For Mr. Kadam I would get him a book on Indian history, mythology and curses... as well as a beautiful notebook for him to write all his amazing facts and knowledge about. I would also give him a hug!

June 9, 2012

teamtiger95

I perfer dystopia due to the fact that I enjoy seeing and hearing about the realistic and not so realistic ways our world could end. Does that make me morbid?

June 9, 2012

teamtiger95

i would get Mr. Kadam a set of hand carved bookends. One being a white tiger with cobolt eyes (Ren) and a black tiger with bronze eyes (Kishan). I would also give him a portrait of the boys. That way he would have something of thier tiger side and something of thier human side.

June 9, 2012

Tigers curse lover

I am soooooo going for paranormal. I love the way it ties you to the book and makes you feel like you are one of the crazy characters. Everybody loves romance, and in paranormal the romance plays a huge part. It makes you want to laugh and cry all at the same time. It makes you want to never put down your special book, and just read it forever. The sudden changes make you have to read and re-read sentences again and again. Paranormal just has you going back for more every time. I am inspired by paranormal writers and one day hope to be one.

June 9, 2012

DREAM CAST: Kelsey- Nina Dobrev or Lily Collins Mr.Kadam-Anupam Kher Kishan-Taylor Lautner or Robbie Amell Nilima-Noureen Dewulf Yesubai-Francia Raisa Ren-Steven Strait. It was too hard to find young male indian actors. Most of the cute ones were over 30. I say give my choices a tan and some color contacts and they will be pimpin'. Please take them into consideration.

June 9, 2012

livi-loo

I would give Mr. Kadam a new jeep.

June 9, 2012

Tigers curse lover

I absolutely love the tigers series. I personally saw Ren played by Penn Badgley. I know he isn't dark skinned and all but every time the book described Ren I just thought of Penn Badgley. I thought Kishan could be played by Logan Lerman. He isn't dark skinned either but I think he would suit Kishan's chracter well. He can act very well and I think he suits playing someone cheeky.) I thought Kelsey could be played by Miley Cyrus. I know it sounds wierd but I just think she'd be right for the part. You don't even have to consider this I just thought it mught be a good idea.

June 8, 2012

Kylara21

I am totally a paranormal genre fan. I love the way reality just kind of melts away, letting you forget the troubles and worries of life for a while. I get so absorbed into the books its as if I'm watching a movie or as if I'm right there with the characters. as for a present for Kadam I would make him a scrapbook with pictures of his family members both past and present including (if I could get my hands on some) his parents right up through all of his greats of grandchildren. I would also put pictures of Kelsey, Ren and Kishan. He loves his family dearly and the "warp" and "weft" are also important to him. I so cant wait for the newest book. I am dying to see what happens to Kelsey after she is taken.

June 8, 2012

ashlee99

I like paranormal better because it has more room for your mind to wander, to experience something that you don't normally everyday. It let's your creativity and imagination flow.It leaves you wondering what's possible.

June 8, 2012

ktrgreen

WHOA.....that is amazing news im glad you told us to sit down colleen. i totally think Ian should be kishan and Shahid Kapoor should be Ren :)

June 8, 2012

For his birthday I wold give Mr. Kadam the magic mirror from Beauty and the Beast combined with the resurrection stone, so that he could not only watch over Kelsey, Ren, and Kishan who no doubt need watching over, but so that he could see and talk with his wife again.

June 8, 2012

shahid kapoor would make the perfect ren, he plays the bad guy and the romantic guys so well

June 7, 2012

xwallflowerx

I would ,somehow, get Mr.Kadam a visit to Yinbailong also known as the ice dragon or the white dragon. Not only does the Dragon know alot he also is much like Mr.Kadam. they do their jobs tirelessly and without much complaint. They bear so much wieght. I think they would enjoy each others company. THey could both learn things.

June 7, 2012

alimagali22

the entire time ive been reading this amazing series i can't help but imagine ren as the gorgeous jason mamoa. He stared in game of thrones as khal grogo and his best look was in the new conan the barbarian. I think he'd be a great candidate for ren in the movie. There's also a bollywood actor named hrithik roshan who would be great as kishan. He has impacting golden eyes just like the character. Just a thought...and can't wait for the next book to come out aswell as the movie!!

June 7, 2012

jbrogot

I prefer dystopians to paranormal romance. I like that dystopians are set in a not-so-distant future with problems caused by things happening in today's world. I do like paranormal romance, but I think it is becoming a little overdone and sometimes cliche.

June 7, 2012

renandkelsey45

i would get mr.kadam soom really old books that he likes. amd mabye some new cars too.

June 7, 2012

mysophie

i would get Mr Kadam a deluxe stationary and organizer set for all his study notes, as well as a spa treatment or massage voucher because everyone needs to relax.

June 6, 2012

Peaches and Cream

I would give Mr Kadam a card or a drawing because I know that would mean just as much to him as any gift you could buy.

June 6, 2012

Paisch

What I would give Mr. Kadam is a scrapbook of pictures that covered the more 'safe' parts of their adventure, and when they are somewhere he cannot be. You can always tell he is disappointed when he cannot go where they are so I think it would be a reminder that he is part of the team no matter what.

June 6, 2012

Paisch

My favorite would have to be Paranormal considering it is outside of what we are used to. There are so many different realities with so many different variations, it just makes it an enjoyable adventure with each book.

June 6, 2012

Cordelia

The perfect gift for Mr. Kadam would be a garage filled with all his favorite cars! But since I'm on a budget here we'll have to settle with giving him a collector's book on old and new classy automobile inventions!

June 6, 2012

Cordelia

It's difficult to decide. On one hand I prefer Dystopian b/c I know to expect accelerated character growth and a way to fix the world. But, I love the tigers curse series in which the characters are trying to prevent Lokesh from creating a dystopia. I guess I'm stuck in the pre- and post-dystopian mindframe.

June 6, 2012

Angel0729

I prefer paranormal, they keep you on the edge and take you to places you can never imagine where dreams are reality. I would get Kadam a personalized jornal-stationary set since he loves to record all of their adventures!

June 6, 2012

June 6, 2012

Catherine1998

I prefer Paranormal books because there is such a wide variety and mixture of them to read and with them, yes some might be cliche at times, they are usually awesome and give me that happy romance squeal that I want and look for in books. They are exciting and I love how some authors are able to incorporate them into todays world so that it seems almost normal everyday thing. The authors also more often then not potray the stories in a very relatable fashion that allows me, the teen reader, to relate to the book and also have fun reading it.

June 6, 2012

renlovertiger

Happy birthday Mr. Kadam!!!!!! I would make him a slideshow of all the happy memories he had with Ren and Kishan!!! This is because Mr. Kadam has always been a father to the boys ever since their parents died. I thought Mr. Kadam will really appreciate this gift because he never really wants anything big. It will really touch his heart!!

June 6, 2012

tigerzalic101

oh my god. i literally screamed when i heard there was to be a movie. i so cannot wait. for Mr. Kadam's birthday i wouldn't buy him anything really. he is not the type of man you buy a preasant for. i would take him, ren, and kishan to the graves of Deschen and Rajaram and have the three of them spend a week or so by the waterfall. Give Mr. Kadam a little vacation from everything and let him spend some time with his boys

June 6, 2012

happy birthday Mr. K - i'll give you a painting illustration of you and your family - so although the memories faded, you still able to remember how your family looks like.

June 5, 2012

Honestly, anything worldly that i got Mr. Kadam would fall flat. He has all the money that he needs :P Instead of going to the store i would make him something like a statue or write a poem about how great of a person he is. I'd make sure not to get him socks! (Sorry Ren, you really screwed up) Just anything to let him know that i cared. HaPpY BiRtHdAy Mr. K!!!!! (what is it like 400?)

June 5, 2012

quirkylady21

Happy almost Birthday Mr. Kadam!!! So what do you buy a man whose rich and can buy whatever he wants? Hmm...Aha!!! The answer is simple. I would offer him my friendship. You can't buy a friend, at least, not a genuine friend. One good friend is worth more than ten lousy friends. Trust me I know.

June 5, 2012

I really like both dystopian and paranormal, but I think that paranormal wins! :) That is fantabulous news about the movie! I'm really excited! and good luck getting to meet Ian .D

Ian Somerhalder should play Ren (jut sayin) He is a sexybeast .)

June 5, 2012

June 5, 2012

Archana Prabhakar

Although I love both genres, if i had to choose one it would be dystopian. Just reading about worlds that are so different yet vaguely similar to ours is so interesting. I often find myself thinking about what it would be like to live in a totally marred society, as depicted in dystopian novels, and ask myself if I would be willing to stand up and make a change in such a twisted world. Dystopian reads give me so much food for thought, and that is why I prefer reading them over other genres.

June 5, 2012

vac1191

I prefer paranormal, what I love about it is the endless possibilities. No matter how many books I have read, authors continue to surprise me with their creative imaginations. The Tiger books are some of my new favorites, because I am not familiar with Eastern Mythology and Folklore. Not only am I thrilled by the new magic, but the history is truly intriguing! Colleen, to be able to craft these stories the way you do is a magic all its own. Thank you! Mr. Kadam is someone who is especially difficult to buy for. For his birthday, I would create a book of his genealogy as far back as I would be able to find. I hesitate to say scrapbook, but it would include photos and portraits from his relatives past and present. It would also have drawings of places he and his relatives have lived, plants and animals from those areas he might have encountered, and the architecture from the respective time periods. Mr. Kadam can have anything he wants, but to be able to look through this book and remember the sights, sounds, and smells of his past would be a whole different kind of magic.

June 5, 2012

Snowbird

Wow, I'm so surprised to know that Mr. Kadam is having his birthday so soon!Happy Birthday Mr. Kadam!! I wonder how old he is.... I'm really looking forward to the official cover of Tiger's Destiny, I hope it's "enlightening". To Mr. Kadam, a man who has almost everything - plenty of money, world-wide connections, extensive knowledge - I think a heartfelt 'Happy Birthday' and some close friends (Nilima, Kelsey, Ren, Kishan) spending the day with him as a family would be sufficient. An old man's best comfort and wish is to know that someone truly cares for him and to see the young ones happy, so I'm sure Mr. Kadam will be happy to just spend quality time with everyone in a memorable place and temporarily forget all their worries.

June 5, 2012

kempokarategirl

This is my first time posting a comment and I'd like to thank Colleen for creating such a beautiful, spellbinding world where I can go and be caught up in. I can't wait for the next book-I feel like I'm underwater and am running out of air waiting for it's release....As for Mr.Kadam--I'd like to wish him a Happy Father's Day as well as a Happy Birthday-- without his love, devotion and unfailing loyalty and support Ren and Kishan would not be the men they are in the series- and Kelsey wouldn't have that unconditional, non-judgemental father figure to lean on. That being said, I'd buy Mr.Kadam a subscription to "Curry Monthly" cooking magazine. for the guy who has everything a monthly mag. would keep him waiting for the next issue.

June 4, 2012

I Wld buy Mr.Kadam a Set Of His Favorite Books...I"m not suree Which Ones those Are But Id ask Him(:

Ok. Im gonna keep it short & simple: I would get Mr. Kadam either a laptop of ipad so he can do research while they're traveling. It would make the quests shorter

NUMBER 10!!! Because if you get to meet Ian Somerhalder (you lucky, lucky girl) then maybe you can convince him to play Ren in Tiger's Curse. Those blue eyes are sure to be a hit, after all. .)

I would pick paranormal, because the category is so broad. You could have vamps, weres, undead, and so much more, and the mystery/myths (omgosh i LOVE myths) just fills me to the brim. Whereas dystopia is also a great category, it's just a little too apocalypse and sad and dead for me. I read both genres, but I would pick paranormal .) Happy Early Birthday, Mr Kadam! I would get him a gift basket of a handkerchiefs set because i can totally see him carry it around and hand it to the trio whenever they get dirty or messy (which, happens quite often actually), a new journal for the clues and deciphering he always does, no doubt he'll run out of room soon. And a set of encyclopedias with info about the past and present, magic to technology to myths to predictions! When oftentimes he has to double(even triple)-check, I hope this set would help him research even more efficiently. Absolutely can't wait for the next book!! Thanks so much :D

I love Julie Plec but I hope she doesn't vary from the book like she does with TVD. Colleen has written such an amazing book I hope she stays true to it like they did with Twilight....imagine if they had changed that movie!

Black Doves

For Mr. Kadam's birthday I would take him to see Deschen and Rajaram's graves. The pair of them mean a lot to Mr. Kadam and he mentioned that he hadn't visited in awhile. I think that it would mean the world to him to see them again.

I can't wait to see the new cover for the 4th book. My 21st birthday is June 22nd so in a way it's kind of like an early b-day present. Anyway congrats to Mrs. Houck on a dream come true with her upcoming movie. Squeals!! My choice of genre would have to be Paranormal. Dystopia to me is just too obvious. The structure is always the same: Government control, false sense of utopianess, and eventually some form of rebellion. Paranormal has an endless stream of possibilities that keeps you guessing. My favorite paranormal creature would have to be werewolves, ever since I saw Taylor Lautner with his shirt off. My one true book genre love is paranormal hands down. LONG LIVE TIGERS!!!!!!

Well what I've learned from Mr.Kadam from the book is that he appreciates gifts that come from the heart, not over the top, fancy, expensive gifts. I would maybe give him a few days off from all his hard work and take him to his home town or a place close to his heart. We could go to a big party and he could just relax. If it was possible I would find a way for him to see his family, he must miss them so much. I feel after reading the books that I could know him personally and consider him a friend. This is what I feel he would enjoy and cherish the moswt for his birthday.

renloverfangirl

I would choose paranormal because it includes stuff like vampires, werewolfs(which i think are crazy awesome) witchs, wizards, hot cursed people who turn into tigers!. Also everyone wants to have a life like someone from a paranormal story, i mean who wouldnt like a life like kelsey hayes, 2 extreamly hot guys chasen after you, every girls dream!!!(well my dream anyway!!)

I favor paranormal over dystopia. I love to be able to get lost in a good book. To be taken on an amazing ride through someone's incredible imagination. Our current world provides enough reality to handle in a day. Reading about how corrupt the human race becomes in the future lays heavy on my heart. I did read Hunger Games. It was amazing, however it tore my heart to shredds and haunted my soul deeply. I think I would give Mr Kandam a time machine so he can go back in time to be with his wife and children whenever he wanted. Anything is possible. Or from Kelsey I think a poem she writes for him expressing her love and gratitude for him in her life. He has become like the father figure which she so desparately needs. A gift from the heart hand made with love, since Mr. Kandam is wealthy as can be.... and can buy anything he wants.

OMG! im so excited for tigers destiny and the movie! and i love both genres

Hi Colleen, 6 or 7 years ago I would have answered: paranormal. But lately I've been reading text about globalization and consumerism, and I realized that the chance of the world become one of the dystopian's series, or something much worse, it's very real and big! Our inconsequential actions can ruin our existence. Therefore, I choose dystopia. XOXO

Though both types of fiction are a wonderful read, I would have to go for paranormal. As a reader, and a constant student of life, paranormal always challenges me to think outside of my upbringing and what I think is fact. Paranormal opens up not only the world, but the entire universe, to ideas that bring one closer to understanding the self. It challenges one's imagination and as Einstein once said, "Imagination is more important than knowledge".

What would I buy for the man who has everything? I think that I would take him back to his home town/village, and set up a video conferance or a meeting with his family.

June 3, 2012

TeamAlaganDihrenRajam

1.i like paranormal better because it is mysterious and there are many different types and anything could happen. 2.for Mr. Kadam i would buy him classic books that the group cold read together and i would also find out what he enjoys reading most. he would enjoy reading and spending time with everyone.

June 3, 2012

tigerfreak

Actually instead of a paranormal book I would actually prefer a dystopian book. For Mr. Kadam's birthday I can't get him anything. The man needs something more then a gadget or a book. He needs someone that can be a companion. Someone to be by his side. Other then Nilima, Kelsey, Ren, or kishan. He needs a wife. Trust me I would know if he needs a wife because I read the series over 100 times. I really have read every tigers curse book over 100 times. Anyway Happy Birthday Mr. Kadam and Kelsey

TigerLuvr52

I would have to say paranormal. I love to read about mythical creatures because it gets me away from the real world for awhile. I don't have to worry about my problems at the moment, I get to worry about their problems. I love both genres, I love The Hunger Games, but paranormal is more me.

June 2, 2012

TIGERLOVERxoxo

PARANORMAL! I luv how it opens our eyes to whole new worlds! It seems as if we could be living in sumthin different then what it seems. even if afterwards we decide it's not real, they are sum stories (like tigers curse) that are so incredible that ur never sure if it's truly fiction. Or maybe it's so good that u just WANT to believe it's real....

Iheartbooks

I prefer dystopian fiction. I love the idea that it could actually happen one day (I don't think any angels or other mythical creatures are coming to earth anytime soon). But, above all, I love how dystopian fiction really gives insight into human nature. what society might do if we ended up in a world like that. Would we band together? Would we divide ourselves and pick sides? Or would be each go at it alone? It really makes you think about yourself and how you would react in a post-apocalyptic situation.

June 2, 2012

TinkSaz

As much as i love the hunger games, I am not a big fan of the Dystopia genre, so i would have to say Paranormal. I just love the whole idea that there could be a magical world right before our eyes and we do not even know it. What would I buy for Mr. Kadam is a really tough question. Mr. Kadam practically has everything. I would probably get the biggest encyclopeida that has almost every subject known to man because there has got to be something that he does not know about.

June 2, 2012

Biluata

I love both, but I would have to say paranormal. I always like to imagine worlds that are beyond normal where almost anything could happen. As for a gift for Mr Kadam.... Either a nice book that he hasn't read before or maybe wash all of his cars for him (if he would allow me to). Julie Plec! Oh my gosh, that is so awesome! I love watching Vampire Diaries. Klaus is a really great villian. I know he is supposed to ruin their lives and all, but I just love him. He is such a charming character. I can't wait to see what she does to Tiger's Curse too :3

June 2, 2012

tigerlover1307

I definitely love Paranormal books the best! I love all the supernatural beings that pop up in all the different series of books. Paranormal romance books are my favorite because I think it is so amazing when all these supernatural beings fall in love with humans. These books make me want a reality like that and to have a guy like the ones written about to fall in love with me!

June 2, 2012

i think mr.kadam deserves to take a trip to shangrala with ren, kishan, kelsey, and his grand daughter without any stress of breaking the curse. because i know he would love to see it and he would want to go with the people he loves most. :) ps. congrats! i cant wait for the movie to come out im so excited! and even though i didnt win the contest i still love you! haha .)

June 2, 2012

dilora

I like both, but dystopia is my favorite. I think every time I read one I try to make sure I update my 72 hour kit, and read a survival book. I do like a good ending though. (Hint hint please give a good ending to yours where both tigers are happy.) To Mr. Kadam, he is very into learning and breaking the curse, but I think he needs a week vacation where he doesn't have to worry. And I'll go with him because it will be my birthday June 9.

June 2, 2012

Loki4President

Yeeesss! Can't wait for the movie, so excited! Geez, Dystopia and Paranormal, that's tough. As of right now, Dystopia, but the book has to have good world building. I've read a lot of dystopia books with bad world building and it really wrecks the book. But I've also read a lot of dystopias with good world building so it all depends.

June 2, 2012

I would probably gift Mr.Kadam some type of object that would keep Kishan out of trouble.

He should play Ren, just as I pictured him when reading the books. Love your books and very glad that my daughter gave me Tigers Curse to read. Looking forward to Tigers Destiny and now will get to see the movie.

iLOVEtigers17

WAHOOO!! I'm so excited for true cover of Tigers Destiny to come out! Happy Birthday Mr. Kadam!! How old are you? For your birthday I think I'm going to get you an antique desk with a coffee brown leather bound journal, hope you like it!! Which genre do I prefer? Overall the books that fell into these two catagories, I have like Dystopian. I'm not much of a paranormal reader (I'm a wimp). However, books like the Hunger Games or the Maze Runner or even Matched . Those books give me the thrill I need without frightening me out of my mind. :)

June 1, 2012

KishansWarp

I love both genres but i think a good dystopian would be my favorite because the leader of the community isn't bound by any laws and can make their own world which is more interesting to read for me than a paranormal where more of the real-world is incorporated. For Mr. Kadam's birthday i would give him his own Divine Scarf so he could become a tiger whenever he wanted because he enjoyed it so much when trying to save Ren. It's time to go rent every season of vampire diaries :) I'm soo excited for the movie!! I got my whole family hooked on the series so i better go tell them the awesome new. Thanks!

June 1, 2012

Li-ven the Wes-t

Ahhhhh!!!! I LOVE Vampire Diaries!! I'm so happy that she'll be writing the movie!! I prefer paranormal books to dystopian because usualy the characters are more developed. You get to know them more, and usually, paranormal books have a little romance in them, which I LOVE as well :) Also, Dystopian books start to sound the same after a while. The government or whatever is holding them down, and they want to end it, then the hero/heroine usualy wins in the end, makeing the world a better place. Paranormal books alway keep me on my toes on whats going to happen next. No two stories are alike, and though some become amazing best-sellers, most are hiding, waiting to be discovered. And I love being able to discover new authors and storylines, and finding new charaters to obsess about, which I do with just about all the books I read. :)

TriggerKatt

That is SO EXCITING. I canNOT wait for this movie to come out, you have no idea. Well...maybe you do... Well, I do love a good paranormal book, but I'd definitely have to say dystopian. There's just so much more that can be done in that genre, so much excitement and questions. I'm not saying there isn't all of that in a paranormal book, but in dystopians, the stakes are higher. And for Mr. Kadam...I'd get him a Golden Fruit. I wish I had a Golden Fruit. Congrats, Ms. Houck!

i love your books i just wish i could see a preview of the fourth for my birthday on June 20 it would be the best birthday ever if my favorite writer would email me or if i got to see a preview of the book that keeps me tense waiting for it i have read all three others my cousin has the first one i got the second one for Christmas and my mom has the third one and i hope i get the next one because i love tigers and your books got me into India's rich culture

SeriestoLife

YAY! I'm so excited for the Tiger's Curse movie! I wish I was able to see The Vampire Diaries but sadly, I cannot get it on my TV. I loved your reasons why Julie Plec would be a great producer for Tiger's Curse and I trust your judgement. Okay then, for the first contest... Is it possible to choose both? Oh, well. If I had to choose one it would have to be Dystopia. I choose Dystopia because I love Dystopian novels. They are just a way for the author to bring his/her own imagination to everyone. They can express themselves anyway they want without being limited to what they have. Also, Dystopian's have a way of bringing to life the authors mind and show the inner workings of them. Thank you!

Oh My Goodness I can't believe i won the pinterest contest. It was so much fun to do. You should do another one. Also want to thank you a million times over for picking my favorite bollywood actor for this month. You should watch 'Kal Ho Nah Ho' it will make you cry. But what my friends say is "when he cries we all cry." lol :)

bilauta1234

I LOVE paranormal! Dystopias are generally more depressing and not as fun. Paranormal books are very imaginative and engaging, at least to me. And for Mr. Kadam's birthday, I'd get him intricate and cool toy cars :) He can have lots of those without needing a bigger garage.

June 1, 2012

NicoleCav

Now I feel like I need to Netflix Vampire Diaries and I know I am going off of one picture, but that girl looks like she'd make a great Kelsey! And I hope this lady doesn't change anything she doesn't have to. Your stuff is perfect just the way it is!

June 1, 2012

BookWorm

I love the Paranormal genre! Especially if it involves a new creature that no one has heard of or if it's based off of creatures that aren't werewolves or vampires (I'm over that craze). I personally cannot stand Dystopian... I've tried so hard to like it but I just can't! I think I rated "Divergent" 1 star, lol. Actually, I do like "Incarnate" and "Birthmarked" but that's only because they are in new/fictional worlds so in my mind I can imagine them being more medieval .)

June 1, 2012

Katrina:)

I would go with Paranormal. Mostly because I find I either really like or really don't like dystopian and can't find a middle ground in the genre. With paranormal I can find myself reacting differently to each one and I read them more.

June 1, 2012

lovertigergal16

I like Paranormal better then Dystopian..... I don`t know why, I just do. but wait, Isn`t Dystopian, like about the dinosauors??

June 1, 2012

ILoveTigers20

I like dystopian books more. Especially since I find it totally interesting how the different writers provide different scenarios and events that changed the world in their books. Also they are way more original. Paranormal books are awesome, but the more you read of them, the more monotonous they become. On the other side, Dystopian books have totally different settings and challenges in each book. :) I would get Kadam a moving picture of his family (like in the Harry Potter movies) since I think he misses them a lot... If that doesn't work because, well, you can't really take a video from the past, right? I would get him another visit to the Ocean Teacher (from Tiger's quest) since they seemed to get along pretty well and then he could talk with him again.

June 1, 2012

rajkumari378

For Mr. Kadams birthday I would have a shrine build to honor him. He's a great man and more people should know more about him. For the news above Congratulations Colleen!!! This is totally awesome!!! I'm so excited.

I love love love both genres so much. But given the choice, I would choose dystopia. I have been on a dystopian kick for about a year know and there are soooo many great new books to choose from in this type. I love that the setting could be my backyard and yet be something totally unimaginable. I enjoy seeing the way the people would react to seemingly everyday situations that would be everyday in our current society. I alos love the questions that arise in my mind when I read dystopian novels. How would I react in the charaters' shoes? I really like having normal be questioned and to view humanity through dystopian eyes.

June 1, 2012

I would buy Mr. Kadam a cookbook from each major region of the world so that he could cook to his heart's delight. Not to mention Kelsey's stomach's delight!

I love paranormal. I love reading about people or things in settings of the current day and seeing that they are different. It makes you wonder if vampires, werewolves, and other paranormal creatures are out there and are hiding in plain sight. For Mr. Kadam's birthday i would buy him multiple books on different types of mythology. I would buy him books on the Ancient Greeks, Romans, Egyptians, and Indians.

June 1, 2012

I would have to say I love the distopian books the best. They are intersting ideas to think about and it sometimes make you feel greatful for the things you have. Also, I would have to get mr. Kadam a nice car or maybe just a model of the nice car because I'm not rich like the tiger brothers. It's the thought that counts though right?

June 1, 2012

lindseystrike@yahoo.com

For Mr. Kadam I would make him a duplicate of the chakram. Except it would be made of a light iron. I know he likes durga's weapons and so he would have something to remember the adventure by.... I definetly would go with paranormal. I love the idea of myths, ghosts, legends to come to life.

June 1, 2012

tigerfreak

I love paranormal books. I think that they make a book much more interesting. If I had to buy something for Mr. Kadam I would buy him a book for more information probably something that he doesn't know. If I could I would buy him something else I would buy him something that would help him to help Kelsey with helping Ren and Kishan on their quest.

June 1, 2012

I love the world of paranormal. Almost all the aspects of paranormal activities have some form of "truth" behind them. As a reader you can picture these things easily in your mind and picture them happen to or around you. In a way it would be like imagining yourself in another country, it's more realistic than imagining yourself on another planet therefore more satisfying to me as a reader.

June 1, 2012

legendwings

I LOVE reading and writing dystopia! I love looking in to the different world views that characters have on their world, good or bad. My friend and I are currently writing a dystopia book together. Writing dystopia is especially fun- the best part is coming up with creative backgrounds and other ideas for the corrupt societies.

June 1, 2012

white_tiger_lover_16

Dystopia vs paranormal:I perfer paranormal fiction because i believe it leaves more options open for the writer and the reader's imagination. Kadam's birthday:Kadam deserves something he can tinker with. I would get him an old/antique car he could mess with and fix up.

June 1, 2012

pioneerclub

Oh my gosh Colleen I'm so happy for you. I hope Julie uses actually lines from your book in the movie like they did for the Hunger Games. I like paranormal better then dystopian because paranormal is so much more mysterious and you never know whats going to happen next. It really gets your mind flowing. I also love how scary they can get. Say the story takes place in the woods. Then one day you go into the woods and you just think about that book you read and then you suddenly get scared. That's why I just love paranormal, it just really gets you thinking and makes you scared at night and gives you the chills.

June contest: I would have to say Dystopian because it intrigues me a lot and it interests me. A lot of Dystopian books I have read and I absolutely LOVE them, like, for example, The Hunger Games. Even though I am a mega huge fan of the Paranormal genre, I love Dystopian even more! :D -Noelle

Reasons 1 and 2 are my favorite! Character building is so important. It makes characters more real and keeps you rooting for everyone!
